Solo, or "autocross" events are driving skill contests that challenge the driver’s ability and the car’s handling characteristics by driving through a timed course marked by traffic cones in a low-hazard location such as a parking lot or inactive runway. Whether you’re a novice competitor with only a few events under your belt, or someone who has never heard the word "autocross" before and would like to learn to control a car at its limit with more confidence and control, this school is for you!
The classroom session will introduce the basic concepts of solo competition-from what an event is and how it’s run, to basic performance driving theory. The in-car session will serve to re-emphasize and build upon these concepts by letting you experience them first hand, in your own car, under the instruction of experienced solo competitors. This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about how our sport works, and how to become better at it!
We hope to be able to provide each student with 10-14 runs.
