FAST will host its last event of 2009 at the Hernando County Airport in Brooksville -- but as the fourth points even in the '09-10 season, things are just heating up! The $30 entry fee includes the world-famous FAST Lunch!
Airport officials require us to submit a list of attendees in advance, so online regsitration and pre-payment is mandatory. Registration will close at 10 pm 3 December. ALL PARTICPANTS, INCLUDING ENTRANTS AND GUESTS MUST PRE-REGISTER PRIOR TO 10 PM ON 3 DECEMBER TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE SITE! Please include your guest's name with registration for inclusion on the airport access roster. Entries cancelled prior to the registration deadline will receive credit for future events.
Note: The airport authority still insists on limiting us to 75 people each day unless we hire security at their rates...so we're still forced to limit guests to one per person. As in the past, we've set an entry limit of 60, leaving 15 guest spaces. If we hit the entry limit and have unfilled guest spaces left, we'll convert those to extra entries, but cannot accomodate additional guests at that point. Likewise, if entries are running low, we'll accomodate additional guests. Sorry...this aspect is beyond our control.
The site normally opens up about 7 AM for site setup and car preparation, registration opens shortly thereafter, drivers' meeting at 10, first car off ASAP afterwards. The entry gate will only be manned until 9 AM, so be sure and arrive before then, and plan on staying for the day. Tech will set up in the paddock area. All drivers will work. To volunteer for specific work assignments. There are fields for first and second choice of assignments added to the entry form. Work assignments are described at http://www.kickflop.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=619 -- default assignment is to courseworker. The number of runs will be determined by the event chair the day of the event; typically, we get at least 6 runs each at this site.
Brooksville is a traditional autocross site, which means bring your own shade! Sunscreen and additional drinks are wise additions to your kit, even on cool days. For insurance purposes, everyone must sign the waiver. The open nature of the site means the entire area behind the course is open to vehicles, and pedestrians mix with cars far more easily than at SPC -- please exercise additional caution in the paddock area and maintain strict control over pets and children.
In keeping with the low-key character of our events, FAST uses a very basic car classification system -- please see http://www.wedrivefast.com/AboutOurEvents/RulesClassing/tabid/59/Default.aspx to determine the correct class for your car when filling out your entry, or send a note to info@wedrivefast.com for assistance. Note this season's classes are slightly modified from last year's.
Please note that drivers under age 18 will require a parent or guardian to sign the insurance waiver allowing them to compete.
