VMSC Novice School Audie Chenery Chief Inst.

Hosting Organization(s)Virginia Motor Sport Club
Event TypeAutocross, Driving Schools
Event Date(s)12-Apr-2014
Event Description/
Schedule

Some of the best drivers in the state will be on-hand to give focused and personalized instruction in the fine art of autocross or "cone dodging"  as some like to call it.

NEVER-EVERS - teachers will give one-on-one instruction to help never-evers learn what autocross is all about, understand car handling and control, improve reaction times, looking ahead and course negotiation. First thing in the morning, CLASSROOM  - 30 minutes on working, do's and don'ts at events, etc.

MORE EXPERIENCED DRIVERS: those with a season or more of experience will be coached to take their skills to the next level. Brake pedal vs gas pedal, when to use the pavement that is there, reading apexes, reading decreasing/increasing radius sweeper, launches and finishing.

Each student will:

1- recieve private course instruction in the morning

2- private instruction on a dedicated slalom course

3- and each student will work the course as well.  Working not only helps to keep the event flowing but it is mandatory at a race that everyone work. It also allows students to get an external perspective of car control and reaction from the outside.

4 - In the afternoon you will get to practice the full course  with and without your instructor.

You do not need to be a VMSC member to participate, but you do need a valid driver's license and be able to present it at registation.

Minors, 17 and 16, will need to fill out a waiver located on this page: http://www.vmsc.org/upload-download-files/public-files/index.php and bring it.

NOTE: both parent’s signatures are required and at least one parent must show up with minor age students at registration on the day of school. That parent may, however, leave after signing in front of VMSC’s witness. THIS WAIVER WILL GO ON FILE FOR THE YEAR AND THE MINOR DRIVER WILL THEN BE ABLE TO SIGN THE REGULAR WAIVER freeing parents to come later in the day.

If there is a problem or question please call Audie Chenery 804-739-8350

The cost is $75 for school, but you can add the autocross the next day for only $5 if you are a member and $10 for non members as long as you pre registered before you leave School.

Payment is required as part of the My Auto Events registration process. If you can not pay by paypal, you will need to contact Audie Chenery to make arangements BEFORE you REGISTER.  804-739-8350 or autocross57@gmail.com
